Arthur Hayes published his $150 HYPE target from ~$30, put up a $100K charity bet, then sold his entire position just four days later. Critics call it a repeating pattern — he did the same with WLD and ZCash. Defenders point to the fundamentals: Hyperliquid cleared ~$2.6T in notional perp volume over the past year vs. Coinbase's $1.4T, and HYPE gained ~24% over the past month while the broader market fell 10–14%. Hayes has since raised his HYPE target to $200 and BTC to $500K by end-2026. HYPE is sitting around $61–62 right now. The debate misses the real question: does it matter if Hayes is a shill if the underlying thesis is correct? His $150 call was early — HYPE did hit $75.51 ATH after he published it. The fact that he raised targets to $200 after selling is either conviction or another setup. Watching his on-chain wallet is more useful than reading his substack. Hayes pump-and-dump or Hayes as the only macro analyst who actually puts money where his mouth is — which reading is closer to the truth? Just sharing my thoughts. Not financial advice.
